Springhill Boxing Club coach says he's training future champions

Boxing legend Frank Delaney says he’s preparing the Springhill Boxing Club champions of the future, as he hosts an under-12s class.

More than 30 youngsters had been taking part in the classes at the Shotts gym before breaking up for the summer, and Delaney says he is impressed with their progress.

He said: “This is a very busy class with up to 30 kids attending every week.

“We invited all the parents to come along, to see the progress their kids are making, not just in boxing but in fitness, co-ordination and raising their self esteem and confidence.

"The kids were also all presented with a medal.

“They’re a fantastic group of kids and are the Springhill champions of the future.

“We look forward to seeing them all back after the summer.”

There is currently a waiting list for kids to join, but those who are interested can contact Frank on 07724 303288.
