Ohio is one of the few states that does not have a spring high school football season and it has made an impact on how Ohio State recruits some of the top in-state players and their early contributions to the program.
That all might be changing soon as former USFL president Brian Woods is creating a Prep Super League that would start in 2024 and run for six weeks. Multiple cities have been selected as sites for teams, including Cleveland.
In a report by ESPN, Woods stated that he is looking at “prospects entering their sophomore or junior years of high school this fall.” There would also be Name, Image, Likeness benefits along with extra exposure to college coaches, Woods claims.

There has long been coaches and players asking for spring football in Ohio. Although it will just be a select amount of players participating, it is a “start” to the Buckeye state’s players catching up to other states who play a spring schedule.
