The clocks will soon spring forward in the UK and whilst this means we will miss out on an hours sleep, it also means that we will see more daylight.
Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 26 this year, with the clocks changing at 1am. Whilst you will be missing out on some shut-eye at the end of the month, fear not, the days will hopefully become a little sunnier.
If you forget which was the clocks change, simply remember it as ‘Spring forward' and 'fall back', with the time changing by an hour again in October. But when does Spring actually begin and what is Spring Equinox? Here is what you need to know.

Spring Equinox 2023: What is it?
Spring Equinox, or the Vernal Equinox as it's also called, marks the start of spring, when the sun passes north through the Earth's equator.
The equinox, which is a phenomenon, happens twice a year - once during Spring and again during Autumn.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the Spring Equinox occurs around March 20 to mark the end of winter and the beginning of spring, whilst the Autumn Equinox occurs around September 23.
During the equinox, day and night will be around the same length. The name comes from the Latin word equi (meaning equal) and nox (meaning night).
When is first day of spring in the UK 2023?
In the UK, spring begins on March 20 which falls on a Monday. This comes just six days before the clocks are set to go back.
When does spring end in the UK 2023?
Spring officially ends on June 21 which falls on a Wednesday.
