Chris Iwelumo says there shouldn't even be a discussion over Kayne Ramsey's red card against Celtic - because it was as blatant as it gets.
But that's at odds with Ross County boss Malky Mackay who jumped to his player's defence and blamed the Celtic fans for pressuring ref Don Robertson.
The on-loan Southampton full-back went in strong on Tom Rogic in the moments after Daizen Maeda 's strike put the Hoops three ahead.
Referee Don Robertson wasted no time in sending him off and the Staggies went on to lose 4-0.
And Iwelumo says that is immaterial as there is "no doubt" he intended to hurt his opponent.
The former Scotland striker said on Sportscene: "Red card. There's no doubt about it, there shouldn't even be a discussion.
"He gets the ball but there's intent there to go through the player.
"They're 3-0 down and it happens just a couple of minutes after the third goal. There's no room for it.
"He knows exactly what he's doing, he's saying to the ref he's got the ball, but to go through Rogic like that... the force puts him in the air and rocks his ankle.
"Red card. Blatant."
However Mackay disagreed as he jumped to Ramsay's defence after the game.
He said: “I looked at it again quite quickly. His right foot comes through and takes the ball, I didn’t think there was a tackle on that foot. His momentum coming through sees his left foot come off the ground and that gives the referee the sending off.
"Letter of the law you could say his feet are off the ground but I don’t think there was any malice in it.
“It’s not something he meant to do and he clearly got the ball and played it away with that touch. At that point the crowd are shouting and the referee gives it.
"Could it have been a yellow? Yeah, maybe. I asked the referee if he was sure. He said the two feet were up off the ground. It’s one of those things, we get on with it."
