The Twitter world was hit with a harsh reality on Saturday after owner Elon Musk announced that the platform would have a view limit because, as Musk put it, “we are all Twitter addicts and need to go outside.”
The change initially restricted non-paying users to view a maximum of 600 tweets per day (300 for new accounts), and Twitter Blue members to 6,000. Those limits were later bumped up twice.
After users reached their view limit, they would receive an error message which read, “Rate limit exceeded.”
Naturally, Twitter users were up in arms over the change, and the sports world was no different. Media members, players and teams all had brilliant reactions to the platform’s undesirable changes. There were plenty of jokes to be made, with the likes of the Pirates, Reds, Kraken, Hurricanes, and even Kings guard De’Aaron Fox chiming in.
