Spooky Halloween trail in Cardiff's parks that brings monsters to life in front of your eyes

A fun Halloween trail in Cardiff's parks and green spaces are bringing monsters to life this spooky season. You'll never look at the attractions in the same way again.

Using augmented reality, you and your family will be able to find the creepy monsters, including zombies and skeletons, hidden around Cardiff. You will be able to see the monsters through the Love Exploring App which you can download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The monsters, informative trails and fun games can be seen via the app in Roath Park, City Hall Lawns, Bute Park, Forest Farm, Parc Cefn Onn and Cardiff Bay. The Halloween Trail, which features augmented reality pumpkins, witches, skeletons and more, will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

The app will also help users learn more about Cardiff's history and green spaces. Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Events, Cllr Jennifer Burke-Davies, said: "The Love Exploring app is a great way for people to get to know Cardiff's parks and green spaces better and have a lot of fun at the same time. We're lucky to have some fantastic green spaces in Cardiff and the app is designed to help encourage even more people to head outdoors to enjoy them."

The app also features an augmented reality Dinosaur Safari. Little explorers can use the map to find the dinosaurs in the park and then test their dinosaur knowledge in the quiz. You can keep up to date with the latest What's On news by signing up to the newsletter here.

More augmented reality games will be added to the app in the coming months, including a Tree Fairy trail, and a Mega Mini-Beasts trail. App users can also explore the magnificent trees of the Bute Park arboretum, take a mindfulness trail around Cardiff Bay, discover the wildlife at Forest Farm, and take a historical walk around Roath Park lake.
