Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu on Saturday claimed that there would be no adverse impact and threat to the traditions and cultural diversity with the creation of new districts out of the existing East Godavari district.
Addressing the gathering during the Ugadi celebrations here, Mr. Kannababu gave an assurance that the creation of the new districts - Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, and Paderu - would not have any impact on the diversity and culture of the region as it was being done purely for administrative convenience.
East Godavari Collector Ch. Hari Kiran said that the creation of new districts would enable better governance at the micro level. He reminded that Vizianagaram was the last district to be created in the State in 1979.
Mr. Kannababu, Kakinada city MLA D. Chandrasekhara Reddy, and officials felicitated writers and literary personalities during the celebrations.
