The chief financial officer of the second largest provider of private healthcare in the UK has been in a serious cycling accident, it was announced today.
Jitesh Sodha, CFO of Spire Healthcare, is “recovering well” in hospital after being left in a “serious condition” following the accident, the company said.
Spire Healthcare has appointed group financial controller Harbant Samra as Sodha’s temporary replacement, reporting to chief executive officer Justin Ash.
Ash said: "We are very pleased and relieved that Jitesh is recovering well. We send our very best wishes to him and his family.
“Jitesh may be absent for some time, but we anticipate he will fully resume his responsibilities in due course.”
Sodha, who is also a non-executive director at PZ Cussons, has been at Spire for three years. He was the CFO of De La Rue prior to joining.
Spire confirmed that they will still release preliminary results for 2021 on 3 March, despite Sodha’s absence.
