PRACHIN BURI: After dressing up as superheroes, a sugarcane farmer and his brother-in-law are now enjoying revitalised sales of sugarcane juice at an intersection in Prachin Buri province.
Prasong Butda, 42, said sales had been slow since the Covid-19 pandemic arrived. And then he and his brother-in-law Watchakorn Salod, 38, came up with the idea of wearing superhero costumes while selling chilled sugarcane juice at the intersection on Route 359 in Krabin Buri district, Prachin Buri.
They put the idea to the test in December last year, and their outfits caught the eyes of many motorists.
"Since donning these outfits we've been able to sell more sugarcane juice. We're selling 100 to 120 bottles a day at 20 baht each," said Mr Prasong, who wears a Spider-Man costume.
He said they sell their 350cc bottles of cane juice every day from 1pm to 3pm.
