'Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse': Peter Parker's return, first look of Issa Rae, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man and more highlights in new trailer

Miles Morales is all set to take the audience on another thrilling and action-packed adventure 'Across the Spider-Verse' in the highly anticipated sequel to the Oscar-winning 'Spider-Verse' animated saga.

A new trailer of the upcoming film dropped last night that gives us a sneak peek into the Spider-Verse with some familiar faces and some new ones. The plot of the new film follows Miles as he reunites with Gwen Stacy and embarks on a journey across the Multiverse, where he encounters Spider-People.

But a villain The Spot, voiced by Jason Schwartzman, pushes the heroes to clash with one another. Miles must find a way to redefine what it means to be a hero as he finds himself pitted against the other Spider-Men and Spider-Women.

While the first look trailer gave fans a lot to look forward to, including an Indian Spider-Man, this one offers a more detailed look at the lead characters and even offers a brief introduction of the new entries into the Spidey family with Issa Rae voicing the character Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman and Oscar Isaac voicing Miguel O'Hara.

Take a look at some of the highlights:

Peter Parker's return

As Miles and Gwen set out on their adventure into the multiverse, they find a familiar face - Peter Parker - voiced by Jake Johnson. This time around, he is seen in a comfy bathrobe and what looks like a baby carrier. The clip has given rise to speculation that Peter and MJ get back together and have a child together.

Jessica Drew

The new female character Jessica Drew gets a dramatic introduction as she is seen riding a bike in the multiverse portal and taking on a different version of the Vulture as compared to Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. This will be Issa Rae's first turn as the superheroine Spider-Woman.

Miguel O'Hara

After making a mark as Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac will be back swinging in action with his turn as Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099. The clip gives us glimpses of O'Hara slipping between the lines of hero and villain. "Who do you think you are, really!?" Miguel asks as he races towards Miles with talons on his suit. A shot also sees him pin the young hero to the floor.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, the film stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham and Oscar Isaac.

The film will fly into theatres on June 2, 2023, and will have a wide release in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
