A SpiceJet plane on Monday hit a pole at the Delhi airport as it was preparing for take-off, leading to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) suspending two pilots and some ground staff involved in the incident.
The Delhi-Jammu flight was scheduled for take-off on Monday morning, when during pushback its right wing came in close contact with the pole, damaging the aileron which is controlled by the pilot to make a turn.
The two pilots and the aircraft maintenance engineer were among those suspended by the DGCA. The officials also visited the site for an investigation.
“A replacement aircraft has been arranged for passengers,” an airlines spokesperson said.
