A Spice-addled man spotted pilfering from a parked car threatened intervening residents with scissors. Gareth Llewellyn was seen trying the door handles or cars in Hampton Road, Redland, and he has now been jailed.
Bristol Crown Court was told when people approached him he produced scissors and said "do you want some of this?" before scarpering. Police arrested him after he was able to use a credit card stolen from a car to buy tobacco.
Llewellyn, 42, of Logos House in Wade Street, pleaded guilty to threatening with a knife, theft from a vehicle and fraud by false representation on September 6 last year. He also admitted criminal damage of a police cell the next day.

Judge James Patrick jailed him for eight months. The court was told Llewellyn had declined to attend court in person from HMP Portland but was content to be sentenced in his absence.
Charlotte Evans, prosecuting, said Llewellyn was seen entering an Audi car and, when a resident intervened, Llewellyn produced what appeared to be a blade. When another resident appeared Llewellyn said "Do you want some of this?", the court heard.
Police called in arrested Llewellyn and it emerged he had stolen a credit card and £4 of cash from the Audi. It was also found he used the credit card to buy £28.69 worth of tobacco.
The court heard scissors, which Llewellyn admitted having, were found under a parked car. Having been placed in a police cell he used excrement to write "f*** the pigs" on the wall, which cost £200 to clean.
In interview he told police he had little recollection of events as he had taken the drug Spice. Nicholas Lee, defending, said: "It was a pair of scissors rather than a knife. He is clearly a very troubled individual."
