The SPFL have NO plans to change the fixture card on the weekend of King Charles' coronation.
The Daily Record report that league chiefs will not put the Premiership card on hold around three days of royal celebrations which begin on Saturday May 6 - despite a large number of fixtures south of the border moving date. The English Championship will be played on Monday May 8 with other matches from the English Premier League also expected to be affected by the event states the same article.
Celtic currently hold a nine point gap over Rangers in the race for the Premiership title with just nine games of the season to play. The Old Firm pair face four final games before the league split comes into play - including a derby showdown at Parkhead next weekend. Ange Postecoglou's men could find themselves 12 points clear at that stage if both win against Dundee United and Ross County in these upcoming games following the international break.

The duo are then set to meet once more in the league split, although a date for that fixture is yet unknown with the full details to be shared once the final league standings after 33 games are determined. But the weekend of the coronation celebrations could also see the Hoops clinch the league crown if they win every game up until that point.
A source told the Record: “Football in Scotland will continue as usual. The celebrations will only cause a potential problem for clubs based around the London area because of police constraints.”
Michael Beale is yet to taste defeat in the Premiership as Ibrox gaffer and his men play first this weekend looking to keep the pressure on at the top. They host Jim Goodwin's Dundee United side, desperate for points in their bid for survival.
Celtic then play 24 hours later as they make the trip to Dingwall to face Ross County, who are also in huge need for points at the bottom of the table as the Premiership's bottom pair look to cause an almighty upset against the top two this weekend.
