The SPFL have vowed to look for a sponsor for VAR in order to cut the cost for clubs, according to a report.
All 42 senior sides are set to cast their vote on introducing the technology in a landmark ballot on April 19.
A 'yes' vote would give the green light for the system to be introduced in the Premiership and latter stages of the Premier Sports Cup following the Qatar World Cup in late 2022.
To pass, the vote needs support from nine Premiership sides plus 15 clubs from the Championship, League One and League Two.
The Daily Mail report SPFL bosses have promised they will pursue cash-strapped clubs a sponsor to offset the financial impact and are "increasingly confident" teams will vote in favour.
Estimated annual costs are believed to be around £1.4million and Premiership clubs have been told their contribution will be based on league placings.
According to figures released by BBC Scotland, the top-flight champions will foot the biggest bill - covering 16.29 per cent of the cost.
Second place will contribute 11.67 per cent, with the cost dropping progressively down the table.
Rangers have repeatedly called for the introduction of VAR and last week Hibs became the next top-flight side to publicly declare their support.
