SPFL fixtures day: Clubs discover their first opponents for next season

Hamilton Accies have been handed a crunch Championship opener at home to Morton on July 30, as they kick off the new Championship season.

Championship play-off winners Queen's Park have been handed a trip to the Highlands to take on Inverness in their season opener, while in League One Airdrie are at Peterhead and Clyde visit Queen of the South.

Albion Rovers have been handed a tough start in League Two, as they visit Stenhousemuir.

That's the first fixture for clubs across the SPFL lower divisions, and the opening month for teams is looking interesting.

Hamilton Accies follow up the visit of club legend Dougie Imrie's Morton side as they travel to Firhill to tackle Partick Thistle on August 6 and then Somerset Park to face Ayr United seven days later.

They then close out the month with back-to-back home games against Ian Murray's Raith Rovers and Arbroath on August 20 and 27.

Queen's Park have been handed consecutive home games against Ayr United and Partick Thistle after their trip to Inverness, on August 6 and 13, respectively.

Owen Coyle's men then visit Arbroath before hosting League One champions Cove Rangers on August 27.

In League One, Rhys McCabe's Airdrie side host John McGlynn's new-look Falkirk on August 6, before travelling to Palmerston Park in Dumfries to tackle Queen of the South.

Brian Rice's Alloa are due at New Broomfield on August 20, before the Diamonds travel to Dunfermline's East End Park on August 27.

Staying in League One, Clyde host Peterhead on August 6 and Kelty Hearts seven days later at Hamilton's New Douglas Park.

Brian Reid's Albion Rovers have been handed a tough first five, as they host Dumbarton on August 6 before travelling to East Fife seven days later.

They're away to newcomers Bonnyrigg Rose on August 20, and host familiar foes Annan Athletic at Cliftonhill seven days later.
