VAR could be introduced in Scotland sooner than expected, according to a report.
The video assisted technology had been pencilled in to be rolled out in the Premiership after the mid-season before for the World Cup.
However, the Scottish Sun say that top flight clubs have been told that VAR could be come into play in mid-October.
The report states the introduction would fall after the first round of Premiership games.
The initial schedule was for VAR to start on December 17 upon the resumption of Scotland's top league.
It's been said that the SFA and SPFL are working hard to bring it into force two-months ahead of plan.
It had initially been scheduled to start in Scotland on December 17 when the Premiership resumes after the Qatar tournament.
But it’s now understood clubs have been told SFA and SPFL chiefs are working hard to bring it in two months earlier.
The October date would be conditional on work being completed at all 12 grounds for the installation of communication systems.
The second round of Premiership fixtures is scheduled to begin on October 22.
