SPFL announce Celtic fixture change for Scottish Premiership game in October

Celtic have had one of their upcoming league fixtures altered.

It has been confirmed this afternoon that the Scottish Premiership champions will face Motherwell away from home on Sunday the 27th of October at 3pm.

The tie was previously set for 24 hours before, but has been changed because Sky are now set to show it live.

Fir Park has predominantly been a happy hunting ground for Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers.

The gaffer masterminded several wins in Lanarkshire during his first spell with the club and won on each of his trips to face the Steelmen last season.

This time around, though, Rodgers and Co. will hope they don’t leave it so late against Stuart Kettlewell’s side.

Indeed, it took stoppage time strikes from Matt O’Riley and Adam Idah to give the Bhoys consecutive victories on their travels to Motherwell last term.

The latest fixture change for their next trip to Fir Park comes as Celtic prepare to return to action this weekend against Hearts.

The Jambos come to Parkhead having not won a competitive game all season, so will be desperate to pick up something on Saturday.

Rodgers’ men are in fine fettle, though, having won all of their domestic games this campaign.

They are yet to concede in the league, too, and will aim to keep that impressive record going at the weekend.
