Spencer Matthews tried to jump the queue at the airport but 'got rejected' by staff

Spencer Matthews has admitted that he tried to queue jump at an airport recently, though he revealed it didn't go to plan with him ending up sent getting to the back.

The Made in Chelsea alum, 33, recalled the experience on the latest episode of the Spencer & Vogue podcast - which he presents alongside his wife Vogue Williams, 36.

The couple - who have been married since 2018 - recorded the recent instalment of the podcast whilst in Sotogrande, in Spain, where they have been enjoying a family holiday.

The father-of-three however revealed that he flew out to Barcelona for a night to attend a wedding, though he said that his experience at an airport in Malaga didn't go to plan.

Spencer said he had to leave the couple's apartment at 4am in order to "get the early flight" to Barcelona so that he could make the most of the wedding celebrations.

The reality TV star said he arrived at the airport "well on time" and tried to skip the queue, with him estimating that there were around 300 people queueing to check in.

"Tried to do my queue jump-y thing and go down like the queue with no-one in it [but] because there was somebody manning the front of the queue [I] got rejected in front of a big crowd," he said.

Vogue - with whom Spencer has three children - said: "That's why I never wanna do it. That's so embarrassing." Her husband however commented: "I couldn't care less."

He explained during the episode: "Half the time it works and then you literally walk off like laughing and the people at the back of the queue go 'ah s*** I should do that'."

Spencer said an employee at the airport told him that he would need to join the queue, so he did - with him adding: "[It was] quite a long queue but did move very nicely."

He said that it wasn't the end of the disruption to his planned experience though, with him saying that he was later told he may not be able to board the plane anyway.

Spencer said that due to an overselling of tickets, he was told that he would only be able to board if there was availability - and fortunately he did end up on the flight.

The latest episode of the Spencer & Vogue podcast is available now on audio streaming platforms.
