Spencer Matthews has announced a podcast series focusing on content which he said aligns “more with my interests and passions” after setting a world record by running 30 marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert.

The former reality star-turned-endurance athlete recently stepped away from the self-titled podcast he has hosted since 2020 with his wife, TV presenter Vogue Williams, where they discussed their marriage and life together.

In November, he also announced he was ending his Six Degrees podcast with fellow Made In Chelsea alumni Jamie Laing, and will no longer be recording episodes of his other podcast, Big Fish.

On Tuesday, he launched a podcast series titled Untapped, a weekly hour-long recording that will see Matthews “explore human potential with extraordinary guests”.

“My experience running through the Jordanian desert was a transformative and meaningful time in my life during which I had a moment of clear realisation,” Matthews said.

“I wanted to change the nature of the content I create to align more with my interests and passions.

“Untapped is the realisation of this ambition and I would love you to join me in this new chapter which promises to be fun, uplifting, motivational and even inspirational at times as we hear from the greatest athletes, scientists, and thinkers in the world to truly discover what potential we all have within us.”

The first episode will air on January 27.

Matthews’ 30 In 30 challenge earned him the Guinness World Record for “the most consecutive marathons run on sand”.

“Despite the gruelling conditions, I fell even more in love with pushing myself,” Matthews said.

“The response that I’ve had since 30 In 30 has really shown me that this community exists – sharing this passion with others is something that I feel very strongly about.

“I am proof that it’s never too late to change your habits, reframe your boundaries and be truly open to your potential.”

The series will be co-presented by former X Factor star and TV presenter Jake Quickenden.

“I have known Spencer for nine years and seeing the pure joy that this gives him is addictive,” Quickenden said.

“And I am one such person who shares his excitement – I’ve ran marathons, fought in a cage and am not shy about challenging myself.

“I’ve been enthralled by our guests and have learnt so much already.

“Everyone is going to blow your mind and you’ll hear something you’ve never heard before.”

The series will be produced by the team behind the High Performance podcast, hosted by sports presenter Jake Humphrey.

Humphrey said: “Watching Spencer take on and conquer his 30 In 30 challenge was nothing short of extraordinary.

“His unwavering determination and infectious excitement about his achievement have inspired so many, proving that anything truly is possible.

“I’m excited that, at Whisper, we are embarking on some exciting TV projects with Spencer.

“And at High Performance, collaborating with him to create a compelling podcast that helps us all uncover our untapped potential.”
