It seems like Urban Meyer is either coaching a team or getting ready to coach a team based on rumors and speculation. And to be fair, a lot of it is his own doing with a couple of so-called retirements that have only seen him scratch the itch to get back on the sidelines.
His stint in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars was a train wreck that derailed into a mud field that resulted in the former Ohio State coach getting fired
And so, Meyer is out of employment again, at least when it comes to leading a football program. And … that usually means that the speculation will heat up on whether or not we’ll see him on the sidelines in college again. And while it would be hard to fathom a big-time Power Five school taking a shot on a guy with a lot of baggage now, never say never, and maybe it’ll come at a lower-level school.
Like Bowling Green, where he first got his feet wet as a head coach.
Myer was indeed asked about whether he would consider coaching Bowling Green again by Dave Briggs of the Toledo Blade. Briggs had a text exchange with Meyer asking him if he would consider it, and it seemed to take Meyer aback.
“Wow. What a question,” Meyer responded in text. “I do love BG. However, I could not see that happening. We are enjoying our lives and kids/grandkids.”

Welp. So there it is. Of course, we’ve heard the same tune come out of Meyer’s mouth before only to realize that an ultra-competitive guy like Meyer continues to want to be back on the sidelines. Count me in the camp that doesn’t see this happening anytime soon, but I’ve learned to never say never with Meyer.
