The hotly anticipated Southport Air Show has returned this weekend, creating a spectacle in the sky.
The much loved show has been an annual affair since it began in 1991, though like many big events, it was halted during the coronavirus pandemic. It made its triumphant return this weekend, July 9 and 10.
Thrilling and daring aerobatic displays have been on view, with talented acts dominating the skies including the Red Arrows, Typhoon, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Army parachute team and more. South Korea's national display team, the Black Eagles, will also perform.

The two day extravaganza can be viewed from the Pier Viewing Area, as well as the beach and promenade. It'll feature fast jets, military air crafts, beach explosions and more.
There'll also be plenty of entertainment on the ground, too. There'll be climbing frames, a jet simulator, military equipment, a climbing wall, a paintball range, bungee trampolines and plenty of other activities to ensure ticket holders can make the most of the event.
The show usually attracts tens of thousands of spectators, eager to catch a glimpse of the many aircrafts taking to the skies, making it the North West's largest Air Show. The Southport Model Aero Club started festivities with its popular model aircraft display before the start of the main air displays.
On the first day of the Air Show (July 9), the gates opened at 10am before featuring a host of exhilarating and exciting displays to dazzle ticket holders. Activities came to a close at 4pm, with incredible scenes from the world famous Red Arrows.

The final day of the Air show is tomorrow (July 10). The gates will again open at 10am, with hours of entertainment and excitement on offer. The Red Arrows will close the show with a performance kicking off at 4pm.
