'Spectacular' Highland estate spanning more than 4000 acres up for sale

A SCOTTISH estate in the Highlands spanning more than 4000 acres has been put up for sale.

The Mullardoch Estate, in Glen Cannich, has been described as being among some of the most “iconic Highland scenery” to be found in Scotland by property agents Galbraith.

It said the area is “currently run as a conservation area” but that there are “further opportunities for enhancement”.

Located around nine miles west of the village of Cannich and around 35 miles to the south west of Inverness, it is set against a “spectacular mountainous backdrop” and is “renowned for its striking scenery with ancient native woodlands and lochs”.

The property itself also has two timber bothies and has been put up for sale at offers of more than £2 million.

The property agents also said it is home to a range of wildlife, with locals able to spot red deer, pine martens, mountain hares, black grouse goshawks and golden eagles.

Loch Mullardoch also stretches around nine miles westwards from Mullardoch dam, which was first set up in 1951.

Agents further said that “stalking opportunities have been greatly enjoyed by the current owners since they bought the estate some 40 years ago”.

Galbraith partner Emma Chalmers commented: “Mullardoch is a very special place, set amidst some of Scotland’s most dramatic and beautiful scenery and offering a superbly ‘get away from it all’ property.”
