'Special' - Manchester United fans go wild as Amad scores screamer for Sunderland

Manchester United supporters have once again been left praising Amad after yet another goal during his loan spell at Sunderland. The Ivorian's move to the North East has been a rollercoaster to say the least. At the beginning of his spell at the Stadium of Light, the 20-year-old was struggling to settle.

He would go on an eight-match goalscoring and assist drought as Amad remained on the fringes of the first team. United's youngster would even drop into Sunderland's U21s team as Tony Mowbray looked to improve his confidence.

However, after breaking his duck against Burnley in October, Amad has looked like an entirely different player. The former Atalanta man has notched a further five goals from the right side of the attack and his latest was perhaps his best of the lot.

With the Black Cats cruising to victory away at Wigan Athletic, Amad turned on the style playing a neat one-two with his teammates before unleashing a fierce strike to make it 4-1 with just minutes remaining. Mowbray has insinuated that he does not expect Erik ten Hag to recall Amad from his loan spell despite his side's forward troubles. Since Cristiano Ronaldo departed, United have been in desperate need of a centre-forward.

While Amad has played some matches down the middle, he has enjoyed more success on the wing and for this reason would not be the like-for-like replacement which the Reds are after. However, the 20-year-old's form is certainly encouraging as United look to the future.
