Special gold and white post box in Nottingham will celebrate England's cricket victory

A post box in Nottingham will get a make over to celebrate the England team's win on Sunday (July 14).

The England men's team won the Cricket World Cup for the first time on Sunday with a nail-biting victory over New Zealand.

The scores were even at the end of 50 overs, forcing a super over, which resulted in the England's men's team winning after they managed to hit the most boundaries.

As a way of celebrating the historic win, Royal Mail have decided to roll out special post boxes at all the cities which hosted the World Cup.

A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “Following the England Cricket team’s historic victory, Royal Mail is rolling out 15 special edition postboxes close to each ground used in the tournament.

"Over the next week we will be painting the selected postboxes in white and gold as a tribute to the England Men’s and Women’s teams, who now hold both the ICC Cricket World Cup trophies simultaneously.”
