Spanish fashion designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo has been honored with the prestigious National Fashion Design Award 2024 by the Ministry of Culture in Spain. Palomo, renowned for his innovative genderless fashion brand Palomo Spain, was selected by a jury for his exceptional contributions to the fashion industry.
The jury, led by Carmen Páez Soria, Undersecretary of Culture, commended Palomo for his unique vision and commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity in fashion. Since launching his first collection in 2016, Palomo has quickly risen to prominence as one of the leading figures in Spanish fashion. His bold and avant-garde aesthetic has set him apart, earning him recognition for his irreverent and baroque style.
The National Fashion Design Award, which carries a prize of 30,000 euros, has previously been awarded to esteemed designers such as Teresa Helbig, Ángel Fernández Ovejero, Ana Locking, Antonio Alvarado, and Miguel Adrover.
