The Gov.uk website states: "Storm Oscar is forecast to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the Canary Islands between Monday 5 and Thursday 8 June.

"There are weather warnings in place, please see the website of the Spanish Meteorological Agency for details.

"You should check with your tour operator or accommodation provider before you travel and follow the instructions of local authorities."

The Met Office said weather conditions in the Canaries will lead to a change in UK weather this weekend.

A tweet read: "Storm Oscar is currently bringing heavy rain to parts of the Canaries.

"This area of low pressure will move northwards, leading to a change with our weather this weekend.
