People from Scotland and the UK visiting Spain this summer have been issued a warning regarding passport e-gates.
It follows the news that major queues have formed across the country in response to new rules affecting UK tourists as a result of Brexit. Previously, UK travellers flying into Spain needed to get their passports stamped.
However, as reported by Birmingham Live, the rules have been adjusted to allow passengers to make use of passport e-gates, which are in place in the majority of airports.

According to the i, though, it will be up to the discretion of staff in each individual airport whether to allow Scottish and UK travellers to make use of the machines. The e-gates may also just run during peak times, meaning large queues may form regardless.
The report comes after news of delays and cancellations affecting travel to Spain as a result of strikes. Ryanair and easyJet workers are both taking industrial action following pay disputes.
Additionally, Spanish unions USO and Sitcpla, which represent Ryanair staff, will be striking in 10 different airports throughout Spain. They were on strike for four days last week and will strike for another four days this week.
The unions have demanded better pay and improved working conditions for employees. As a result of the industrial action, flights departing from certain Spanish airports were forced to be cancelled.
EasyJet employees will also strike, which will disrupt holiday plans for people across the UK. From July 29 for three days, staff will strike from three Spanish airports including Malaga, Barcelona and Palma.
