Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has dismissed suggestions that his team are the favorites heading into the European Championship final against England on Sunday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. De la Fuente emphasized the need for his team to elevate their performance even further to secure a record-breaking fourth title.

De la Fuente stated in a news conference that there are no clear favorites for the final, highlighting the competitive nature of the match-up. He stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of play, similar to their previous victories over Germany and France, to stand a chance of winning the tournament.

Despite not being considered pre-tournament favorites, Spain has been the standout team in Germany, winning all six of their matches and scoring the most goals in the competition. De la Fuente expressed confidence in Spain's attacking style of play and emphasized the importance of sticking to their strengths in the final against England.

The coach acknowledged the significance of the upcoming match, describing it as a complicated game against a formidable opponent. He highlighted the importance of minimizing mistakes and capitalizing on strengths to secure victory.

If Spain emerges victorious against England, they will claim their fourth European Championship title, surpassing Germany's record. De la Fuente praised the current generation of players and expressed optimism about Spain's future prospects in international football.

Spain will welcome back Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand from suspension for the final, with Pedri and Ayoze Pérez ruled out due to injuries. In a surprise move, Barcelona midfielder Gavi, recovering from an ACL tear, will join the squad in Berlin as the 27th man ahead of the game.

De la Fuente concluded by emphasizing the historic opportunity for his team to make Spain the most decorated side in the history of the European Championship, urging the players to savor the moment and strive for success.
