Liverpool have been handed a possible boost over the fitness of Thiago Alcantara.
Thiago suffered an Achilles’ injury during Liverpool’s final day win over Wolves in the Premier League. The midfielder walked off the pitch hurt shortly before half-time at Anfield and was subsequently replaced by James Milner.
Thiago will now undergo scans to ascertain the extent of the damage - with the clock ticking down on Liverpool’s showdown with Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris on Saturday evening.

Jurgen Klopp admitted after the win over Wolves that the fitness of one of his key men is “not good”. However, the Reds boss may have been handed a possible boost.
Thiago has been selected in the Spain squad for their Nations League matches against Portugal, Switzerland and the Czech Republic at the start of June. And manager Luis Enrique has confirmed he has held conversations with the Liverpool star over his fitness, and provided an update on the chances of him playing in the Champions League final.
"We have spoken with the player and it is not serious,” said Spain boss Enrique in a press conference on Monday.
“He is having a great season. We are going to wait. If he does not reach the final he will have to join us so that our doctors can see him."
