Spacex Prepares Rocket With Millions Of Pounds Of Propellant

Workers in SpaceX in Brownsville, Texas

SpaceX has announced that they are moving forward with loading propellant for their upcoming launch. The propellant includes liquid methane and superchilled liquid oxygen, also known as 'LOX', which serves as the oxidizer for the rocket. These components are pumped into the rocket from nearby tanks in preparation for liftoff.

The rocket is designed to hold millions of pounds of fuel and oxidizer. The Super Heavy rocket alone can carry up to 8 million pounds (3,700 metric tons) of propellant, while the Starship spacecraft can hold an additional 3 million pounds (1,500 metric tons). This massive amount of propellant is necessary to power the rocket and ensure a successful launch into space.
