Lucknow: Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said that a grand memorial will be built in the memory of party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav in Saifai, Etawah.
The foundation stone of the memorial will be laid on November 22, Mulayam Singh’s birth anniversary.
Akhilesh Yadav, while talking to media persons, said that we will try to complete the memorial very soon.
“Efforts will be made to get this memorial completed before 2027. Netaji remained connected to the soil throughout his life and started from the village and made his place in the politics of the country,” said SP Supremo.
Earlier, Party President Akhilesh Yadav paid tributes to country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and socialist leader Acharya Narendra Dev on their birth anniversary. Party General Secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav and senior leader Uday Pratap Singh were also present among other leaders, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Giving details about the Mulayam Singh memorial, former MP Uday Pratap said it will be built on 8.3 acres of land out of which there will be a grand park and public facilities on 4.5 acres of land.
There will be an auditorium with the grand bronze statue of Mulayam Singh installed there.
