Lucknow: Keeping an eye on the politics at the National level, Samajwadi Party Supremo Akhilesh Yadav today resigned from the Legislative Assembly seat of Karhal constituency while retaining his recently won Kannauj Lok Sabha seat, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Akhilesh Yadav won the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat defeating his nearest rival Subrat Pathak from BJP with a margin of more than 1,70,000 votes.

Under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party showed its best ever performance in Lok Sabha elections and registered a spectacular victory on 37 seats. SP contested only 62 out of 80 seats in UP.
