Southwest Airlines is facing significant disruptions due to Hurricane Helene, with FlightAware reporting that it has been the most impacted major airline. The airline, known for operating a high volume of flights in Florida, has already canceled over 200 flights on Thursday, accounting for approximately 20% of all cancellations in the United States by 10:30 a.m. ET.
Southwest Airlines has indicated that it aims to resume services at Tampa International Airport and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport as early as Friday morning. In response to the hurricane, the airline has taken proactive measures by waiving change fees for flights to, from, or through airports ranging from Miami in the south to Charlotte and Nashville in the north.
