South Sydney's Taane Milne is facing a two-game NRL suspension for an incident in Saturday's one-point loss to Wests Tigers.
Milne was sent to the sin-bin for a late high hit on fullback Daine Laurie in the lead-up to the Tigers' opening points.
The Rabbitohs centre has been charged with a grade two careless high tackle.
Milne can accept a one-game ban with an early guilty plea but will miss Souths' next two matches, against Manly and Brisbane, if he opts to fight the charge and loses at the NRL judiciary.
Jaxson Paulo is likely to come into the 17 should Milne be rubbed out.
Meanwhile, North Queensland's Jeremiah Nanai was charged with a dangerous throw, stemming from their big win on Saturday over Gold Coast, but can take a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea.
The Cowboys' boom back-rower was sin-binned for a lifting tackle on Titans prop Jarrod Wallace, coming in as the third man, in the 52nd minute.
