Southern Comfort celebrates Mardi Gras with a new limited-edition bottle

Southern Comfort is getting ready for the first big celebration of the year with a brand new bottle designed for Mardi Gras.

The vibrant limited-edition bottle has been designed by a British artist and celebrates one of the biggest celebrations of the year in New Orleans - the birthplace of Southern Comfort.

British artist Jade Pearl collaborated with New Orleans based artist BMIKE to design the bottle in her own signature style which brings together the UK and New Orleans.

Speaking on the new design, the artist said that it "“encapsulates the vibrant and optimistic atmosphere of Mardi Gras."

It comes after Southern Comfort previously worked with the New Orleans based BMIKE on last year's Mardi Gras themed bottle, as they have decided to share the spirit of the celebration with the UK.

The bottle contains a QR code, serving up Southern Comfort cocktail recipes or exclusive chances to win prizes.

Party goers are also invited to attend a Mardi Gras bash here in the UK (Southern Comfort)

The limited-edition bottle comes as the liqueur has announced that it will be hosting a Mardi Gras party in the UK that everyone is invited to.

Posting on Instagram, they wrote: "Mardi Gras is the first celebration of the year, originating in New Orleans. To celebrate our roots, we’re bringing the party of the year to you…watch this space!"

Last year saw Southern Comfort host a virtual nationwide bash - due to lockdown restrictions - that anyone in the world could join from their living room.

This year's celebrations are set to take place in London on Saturday, 26 February.

Party goers looking to attend the party could be in with the chance of winning a pair of tickets to the bash by scanning the QR barcode on their Mardi Gras bottle.

Southern Comfort's new Mardi-Gras themed bottle is officially available in-stores across the country.
