A Southern California resident, Zibby Owens, recently experienced a harrowing situation when she used her security camera to witness a wildfire burning in her backyard while she was more than 2,000 miles away in New York.

Owens and her family were fortunately not at home during the fire and are safe, but they remain uncertain about the status of their home in the Pacific Palisades.

According to Owens, the last information they received indicated some sprinkler alarms and a heat warning at their front door, leading her to believe that their home may have been affected by the fire.

Sprinkler alarms and heat warning at their front door indicated potential impact of fire.

One of the final notifications Owens received from her security system mentioned a fire alarm triggered by the Fire Sprinkler Alarm at 5:28 pm on Tuesday, Jan 7.

In the Nest camera footage, flames can be seen shooting up near the pool in the backyard of the Owens’ home, with smoke slowly encroaching closer to the residence as the fire continues to rage.

Despite the potential loss of their home, Owens maintains a positive outlook, stating, “If we have our lives, we are okay. Everything can be rebuilt. It is just beyond apocalyptic.”
