Global welding equipment firm Welding Alloys has acquired South Yorkshire's Premtech in an undisclosed deal.
The move brings the welding consumables specialist into the Rotherham area and adds to its portfolio of products with Premtech's wear-resistant specialism. Welding Alloys said the deal would provide long-term synergies for both companies, targeting customers in the mining, cement, power generation and steelmaking industries.
Premtech was established in 2009 and has developed by supplying products and services to the steel industry. Meanwhile Hertfordshire-based Welding Alloys operates across 30 countries and has supplied to industries as diverse as sugar production and hydropower. The group has said Premtech's Bolton upon Dearne base will help it to optimise its supply chain, reduce lead times, and improve customer service.
