Labour once again reigned supreme in South Tyneside in this year's local elections - however, many parties celebrated small victories including the Green Party and Independents.
Three seats were won by the Green Party, taking Beacon & Bents, Cleadon & East Boldon, and West Park, while Independents took control of Primrose and Westoe.
The Conservatives were left licking their wounds following the results, losing a controversial seat to the Green Party in Cleadon and East Boldon.
