A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in Bath.
Officers scrambled to the Southgate Street area of the city at around 3.30am on Saturday following reports of an attack.
Ben Moncrieff, 18, was found with serious injuries at the scene.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Avon and Somerset Police said a 15-year-old boy from south London has been charged with murder.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article.
He is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court today.
Friends have set up a GoFundMe page to raise £5,000 to give Mr Moncrieff “the funeral and send off he desrves”.
They described Mr Moncrieff as a “hard-working lad” who “brought endless smiles to everyone who was lucky enough to meet him”.
