A study was conducted by experts at money.co.uk who analysed a range of council services across the country, including recycling levels, road conditions and crime rates to investigate which district council tax goes the furthest.
South Lanarkshire was ranked sixth, with an overall score of 5.36 out of ten.
Ranked out of ten, the local authority scored 8.71 for road maintenance, 7.42 for household waste recycling and 3.23 for crime.
