Prizes are up for grabs for cyclists across South Lanarkshire as part of a programme which takes place next month.
The ‘Ride Anywhere Week’ which is from March 21 to March 27 aims to encourage people to enjoy the benefits of cycling.
The programme, launched by Love To Ride South Lanarkshire , allows cyclists to choose their own pledge to ride and they have the week to complete it.
Chairman of South Lanarkshire council’s community and enterprise resources committee, councillor John Anderson, said: “Cycling is a great way to get out and about, get active and to see some of the wonderful sights on your doorstep.
“There is of course the added chance to win prizes, and the four pledges on offer opportunities to get the full family involved.
“So I would encourage as many people as possible to sign up now, set your pledges and get involved – and good luck.”
Those taking part can choose one of four pledges, the pledges include ‘ride for health and fitness’, ‘ride for transportation’, ‘ride for adventure’ and ‘ride with kids’.
For each of the four pledges made, Love To Ride are giving away a prize along.
Prizes include a £100 voucher for Bike Barn in Strathaven, a £100 voucher for Camglen Biketown in Rutherglen, £25 vouchers for Roastes, Paesano Pizza and the Heron Farm Shop and Kitchen in Strathaven and an annual pass worth £25 for the National Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbride.
To take part, you need to register at the Love To Ride South Lanarkshire , log your bike rides, set goals to provide motivation and warn prize draw entries every time you cycle.
