South Lanarkshire Council encourages young people to apply for free bus pass

Young people in South Lanarkshire are being urged to sign up for the free bus travel scheme.

The council is encouraging people aged between five and 21 to sign up for their free travel pass.

The Young Persons’ Free Bus Travel Scheme (freebus.scot) is now live, and the website offers a range of useful information for families and young people about free bus travel, how it works and how to apply.

The scheme is open to those aged five to 21 to apply for a card which entitles you to free bus travel around Scotland. Parents must apply for anyone who is under 16.

Anyone who already has a Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC) or non-Young Scot branded NEC can download the Transport Scott Pass Collect app to transfer the free bus travel onto their existing NEC card without needing to apply for a replacement card.
