South Korea go into Celtic overdrive as Oh hype train has broadcaster moving to show every moment of Angeball

South Koreans are set to get a taste of Scottish football after a sport channel revealed it will show every Celtic game following the signing of Oh Hyeon-gyu.

The forward was signed by Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou from Suwon Samsung Bluewings during the January transfer window following a lengthy pursuit. Oh replaced Giorgos Giakoumakis who headed for the exit door to move across the pond to sign for MLS outfit Atlanta United.

Since arriving in Scotland the South Korea international has started just once in the green and white hoops and scored against the St Mirren in the 5-1 win in Paisley. The form of Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi has limited Oh's game time at Parkhead but that didn't put off broadcasters SPOTV who will now show all Celtic games in South Korea. All Celtic games will now be broadcast from April starting with Celtic trip to the Highlands to take on Malky Mackay's Ross County.

Oh has now been recognised alongside South Korean superstar Son Heung-min who forced media companies to show all Tottenham Hotspur games.

A statement from SPOTV said: “There is a lot of demand from soccer fans who want to watch the matches of Korean leaguers who have entered Europe, so we decided to broadcast Oh Hyun-gyu’s match.

"As the players are showing outstanding performance, we ask for a lot of support from soccer fans so that Oh Hyun-kyu can show a good performance.”
