Stay safe!
Thanks for keeping me company on the blog tonight, dear reader.
On behalf of my fellow bloggers from throughout today, we hope you have managed to stay safe and dry and that we've helped keep you up to date.
With our blog wrapping up you will continue to find updates as they happen along with the major events of Sunday in our story here, and of course we will be back early tomorrow with comprehensive coverage.
It's important to remember ABC Emergency will have all your latest alert information and if the situation becomes life threatening, call Triple Zero (000).
There are plenty of waterlogged roads across the region and they are likely to stay that way for a while — even if the rain has stopped — so please drive carefully. Until tomorrow (later today)…

Nearly there, Almost Home...
I travelled from Sydney to Brisbane today. My 4pm (AEDT) flight eventually left Sydney airport at 6pm (AEDT) and landed at Brisbane airport at 6:45pm (AEST). My husband couldn't pick me up from the airport because our property and car got inundated today and our car is a write off. Trains and buses were cancelled. An Uber home was going to cost $160, so I opted to join the ~200 person long queue for a taxi. Taxi drivers were refusing to take anyone Northside and were only headed to the City or Southside. Tensions were high and lots of frustrated, stranded travellers started abusing taxi drivers as they arrived.
Due to the kindness of a stranger, I made it to a friend's couch in Brisbane City at 10:45pm, after 4 hours of waiting in a queue. I hope that tomorrow I'll be able to make it home to the Redcliffe peninsula.

Emergency alert issued for parts of the Gold Coast
In perhaps a further sign the weather system is heading further south, an emergency alert has been issued for Tallebudgera and Currumbin by the City of Gold Coast.
"Intense rainfall in coming hours may cause flooding in low lying areas in the Tallebudgera and Currumbin catchment," the alert said.
My friend Rooster here can back that up:
"Emergency text just received by Currumbin and Tallebudgera residents warning of flooding in low lying areas. Serious rainfall now occurring."
People should continue to monitor conditions as they are changing, it added.

Brisbane Airport update
Hi, any updates on Brisbane airport?
-Josh
Funny you should ask, Josh, I was supposed to make an airport run earlier tonight but a cancelled flight eliminated the need for that! Seems like flights are still coming in and out though.
However, Brisbane Airport says some roads to the airport are flooded. The terminal will remain open. Travel safe!

Elective surguries at hospitals delayed
South-east Queensland's extreme weather conditions have forced the deferral of non-urgent elective surgery and procedures scheduled for Monday at facilities in the Metro South Hospital and Health Service district, including the Princess Alexandra, Redland, QEII and Logan hospitals.
"This decision has been taken to minimise non-essential travel so as to ensure the safety of patients and staff," the health service wrote on its Facebook page.
"The health service is in the process of contacting patients who may be impacted by these changes.
"Patients are welcome to contact individual hospitals to clarify any changes to their scheduled appointments, surgeries and procedures."
Metro South said it anticipated "minimal disruption" to urgent care services such as maternity care, cancer care and renal dialysis.
Emergency departments continue to operate as normal.
A spokesman for Uniting Care told ABC Radio Queensland 612 they are also not doing elective surgery at the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane's inner-west.
