South Carolina Mom Sues Mattel for Traumatizing Daughter with Hardcore Porn Link on Wicked Doll: 'Inexcusable Error'

Mattel was forced to issue a recall and urgent warning to parents after it was discovered that the link on the back of their "Wicked" dolls' packaging took them to the adult film site and not WickedMovie.com, which features promotional content for the movie. A South Carolina mother is suing Mattel, claiming that her daughter was left traumatized after a link misprint took her to a hardcore porn site instead of the movie's website.

The woman claims her daughter followed the link on the back of the packaging, which took her to Wicked.com — a site adult content. The lawsuit claims the daughter was exposed to "hardcore, full on nude pornographic images depicting actual intercourse," according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Mattel was forced to issue a recall and urgent warning to parents after it was discovered that the link on the back of their "Wicked" dolls' packaging took fans to the adult film site and not WickedMovie.com, which features promotional content for the movie.

The mother called the mistake an "inexcusable error," court documents stated.

"Plaintiff's minor daughter immediately showed her mother the photographs and both were horrified by what they saw. If plaintiff had been aware of such an inappropriate defect in the product, she would not have purchased it," the lawsuit stated, according to Variety.

The woman claimed that she was not offered a refund for the doll, which was reportedly purchased prior to Mattel's announcement, and said that she and her daughter suffered emotional distress from the incident, according to court documents.

Mattel previously advised parents to "discard the product packaging or obscure the link" after learning of the error in November. The company said they were "taking immediate action to remedy this" at the time.

Mattel did not return either TMZ or Variety's requests for comment on the lawsuit.
