A South Canberra home caught fire in a suspicious early morning blaze on Sunday, with several fire trucks and police vehicles called out to the scene.
Emergency services received multiple calls from neighbours around 5am on Sunday, September 8, with reports smoke was issuing from a townhouse on Tewksbury Circuit in Theodore.
Firefighters, paramedics and police arrived to find the second story of the townhouse alight, and evacuated the surrounding homes.
ACT Fire and Rescue said there was no one in the home, and there were no reports of injuries.
The fire was brought under control about an hour after ACT Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene, with crew preventing the blaze from spreading to other homes.
The fire was part of a four-unit complex, ACT Fire and Rescue said, with the blaze contained to the one townhouse.
Neighboring residents were able to return to their homes once the fire was extinguished, ACT police said.
The fire has been deemed suspicious, with fire investigators and ACT police investigating the cause of the blaze.
The townhouse was seriously damaged, with the roof collapsing and the unit "no longer habitable", according to emergency services.
Crews from Tuggeranong police station and South Tuggeranong fire and rescue attended the blaze.
Three fire trucks, a breathing apparatus, and a hazmat vehicle were on scene with about 20 firefighters at the peak of the fire.
Firefighter crews and police remained on scene at 10am on Sunday morning.
