An Adelaide mother charged with the criminal neglect of her two-year-old son will be released from prison.
The toddler was hospitalised earlier this month after he was brought to the Blair Athol Medical Clinic, in Adelaide's north, with serious burns and bruises.
A magistrate granted Emma Jade Short bail on Friday, but police sought to have that reviewed in the Supreme Court.
Police have since discontinued their push for a review, meaning Ms Short will be released today.
On Friday, the Elizabeth Magistrates Court heard the prosecution was opposed to giving Ms Short bail because it had concerns she might try to see or contact her children because of the "strong bond" between a mother and child.
The court heard Ms Short would not be allowed to have any contact with her children.
"If she goes near the children, she's arrested," Magistrate Justin Wickens said on Friday.
Her sister and mother told the court if they became aware of any contact between Ms Short and her children they would contact police immediately.
On Friday, the court heard the 34-year-old from Freeling, north of Adelaide, was not charged with directly injuring the child, but it was the prosecution's case that Ms Short was aware of the abuse or put the child in a position where abuse could occur.
Ms Short's lawyer, David Moen, said he would be defending his client's charge.
The boy's uncle has also been charged with criminal neglect.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has been contacted for comment.
