Three men who were diagnosed with COVID-19 have died in South Australia, which today reported another 3,168 new cases.

Of the three men who died, two were in their 60s and one was in his 70s.

There are 148 people in hospital including seven in intensive care and three on a ventilator.

The total number of active cases stands at 24,324.

The latest daily case figure is the lowest total since Wednesday.

It comes after several days of more than 4,000 cases and the 3,724 cases that were reported on Saturday.

Saturday's state election coincided with a drop in PCR testing.

SA Health said there were 11,223 tests conducted yesterday — an almost 18 per cent reduction on Friday.

There have been a total of 203,881 cases in SA since the start of the pandemic and 234 deaths.
