Søstrene Grene opening first Scottish store in Glasgow and bringing cosy hygge style this Christmas

Søstrene Grene have announced that they will be opening their first Scottish store this winter in the heart of the city centre.

Set to welcome customers through its doors on December 2 in the St Enoch's Centre, the retail chain, known for it's signature Scandinavian style, is a franchise concept and Joint Venture partners Norma Jacob and Richard Power who already run Søstrene Grene stores across England and Northern Ireland.

The new Glasgow store will include a selection of interiors, hobby items, small furniture, kitchen items along with a new Christmas collection, 'The Magic of Christmas', where shoppers can expect to immerse themselves in a world of wonderful finds that won’t break the bank.

The store will set the scene for the retail chain’s new concept called 'Retail for the Senses' which offers a shopping experience designed to invoke your senses and invite shoppers to a journey. With this concept, the chain has worked with evolving Søstrene Grene’s trademark labyrinth, so its flow has become more organic.

The idea of ‘the city’ has also served as an inspiration and large squares which showcase the product categories have been incorporated into the store design to allow customers to take a break without having the feeling of blocking the flow of the labyrinth.

CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene, Mikkel Grene, said they were excited to open the first store in Scotland adding: “We are very happy to be opening a store in Glasgow. We have been wanting to enter the Scottish market for a while, and this is the first new market we are entering since 2019. So, for us, this opening also solidifies the future expansion of Søstrene Grene."

He said: “We wish to contribute with a completely new shopping experience in the St. Enoch Centre. We cannot wait to invite our Scottish customers inside for a moment of ‘hygge’ in St. Enoch Centre this coming Christmas season."

Talking about the first Scottish store Jacob and Power added: “We always strive to offer our customers beautiful experiences when they visit a Søstrene Grene store, and we are delighted to be able to offer this to new Scottish and existing customers as well. On the opening day, we are looking forward to seeing many happy faces and introducing St. Enoch shoppers to Søstrene Grene’s wonderful world.

“With this location right in the heart of Glasgow and an opening close to Christmas, our hopes are high, and we cannot wait to open.”

You can find them located at St. Enoch Centre, 55 St. Enoch Square, Glasgow.
