Sophie Turner strict about public appearances as daughter 'never asked for any of this'

Sophie Turner revealed that she and her husband Joe Jonas are very particular in what kind of publicity they want as their daughter 'never asked for any of this'.

The Game of Thrones actress and the Jonas brother are expecting their second child together. They already have a daughter named Willa, who they welcomed in July 2020.

Sophie and Joe's latest public appearance was at this week's highly-anticipated Met Gala, which followed the theme of Gilded Glamour.

"Every time Joe and I do a red carpet together, we make sure it’s for the right reason and makes sense for our careers," the actress told ELLE Magazine.

"You never want to market yourself as a celebrity couple. It’s not that cool. And my daughter never asked for any of this."

She added: "I know what it can do to your mental health to be in this industry, and to be photographed every day and have the comments."

Sophie added that it isn't a thing she wants her daughter to 'deal with' unless she specifies she wants to be in the industry.

"We’re quite strict about that," the star added.

It wasn't until the Met Gala that it was confirmed that the couple are expanding their family.

Now, following months of speculation, Sophie has confirmed another baby is on the way as she took to the red carpet and cradled her blossoming baby bump while wearing a bejewelled Louis Vuitton gown.

Proud dad-to-be-again Joe shared a snap of the duo on the red carpet via his own Instagram page alongside a swirling star emoji – hinting the pair are over the moon to be growing their family again.

Sophie – who looked dramatically different with long, auburn hair – recently opened up about how motherhood has changed her outlook on life and her approach to work.

She told The Wrap: “The concept of family has made me an entirely much more emotional person. The empathy is heightened; the feelings about family are just like overflowing.

“It's made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother.”

She also explained that she would be allowing her future performances to be influenced by her experiences as a mother.

She said: “As an actor, you know, the only way to become a really brilliant actor is to experience as much life as possible and to bring those experiences in, and so this is just another little part of life that I'm experiencing that I get to bring in and hopefully it helps my performance one way or another.”
